OUCH!

OUCH!

  Hi..
I'm not really sure how to do this, so I'll just tell you what I wanted to get some help with.
I'm 15 years old and I've been having stomach troubles for about 7 years. I got them fixed (I had parasites) about 4 years ago and they stopped for about a year. But, they came back again
I haven't been able to get rid of them since. I feel sick almost every day and have REALLY bad pains in my stomach.
I've had every test you cna imagine and they basically told me to wait.
Someone suggested I might have endometriosis because of other symptoms I have, but the doctors won't test me for it.
I don't know what to do, but I really don't want to hurt anymore.
I dance a lot, and it really puts a damper on things when I'm in so much pain.
If you have ANY suggestions, please let me know.
  eMail me at Valerie_Skye***@****
  PLEASE!

Dear Valerie,
There are many causes of abdominal pain.  Injury to abdominal muscles, ulcers, irritable bowel disease, intestinal infections can all cause different types of abdominal pains.
There are several simple things that you can do.  First, you should start to keep a log of each pain episode.  Describe the pain (sharp, dull, aching etc), its location, how long it lasts, what you were doing prior to the onset of pain and what you did to make the pain go away.  If you need to see a doctor for this problem, the information will be very helpful.  Second many teenagers start to develop abdominal pains, bloating and gas from drinking milk or eating dairy products.  You should try to eliminate milk, cheese etc for several days and see if the pain improves.  Third, if you bowel habits are erratic, you should increase  the amount of fiber in your diet. Finally, you should arrange to have your stool rechecked for parasites.
Best of luck.
