Omentum Thickening??

My mother has just been diagnosed with thickening of the omentum.
Dr. say this typeof mass is usually malignant and removal and some chemo will be necessary.  We are not sure if the ovaries are involved, but would like any input from anyone that may have come accross this scenerio.
