PSC & Liver cleanse?

I've had ulcerative colitis for 10+ years and have just been diagnosed with PSC within the last 3 months. I have gone through a few bouts of intest general itching and over a year of heavy night sweats. The night sweats & elevated liver enzymes in some blood work led to more tests (CT scan & MRI) which led to the PSC diagnosis.

I'm wondering if there is any correlation between the general itching and the progress of the PSC in my liver?  I've been on Cipro for 2 weeks which has curbed the itching and almost curbed the night sweats.

I'm also curious if any of the liver cleansing alternative treatments found on line would be detrimental for me to try at this time?

Itching can be correlated with the severity of disease.  Treatment with steroids or immunosuppresive therapy can be considered.  Endoscopic therapy would be the next step if medical therapy fails.

I am not aware of evidence suggesting liver cleansing regimens help in the treatment of PSC.
