Pain after appendectomy with ascending colon removal for 9 months

Posted By L.McDowell on January 11, 1999 at 09:04:06:

Had an emergency appendectomy - it had burst several times and then resealed itself.  Surgeon found that the ascending colon was also damaged (perforations).  Did well during procedure and also did well when arrived home.  The problem is this - at night I have been having pain around the incision area for approximately 9 months.  Sometimes it is a dull ache and other times it is quite painful.  Have had an ultrasound along with bloodwork.  All is negative.  There is no way that I am pregnant as all that necessary equipment had been removed previously.  I am at a loss as to what could possibly be the problem.  I have no other symptoms or problems.  Any ideas?
