Please help!

In July I was diagnosed with gastritis. I had chronic nausea and constipation. I had a gallbladder ultrasound which was normal, a HIDA scan which showed my ejection fraction rate to be 54%, but I did have some bile refluxing into my stomach. An endoscopy showed a mild gastritis. I have had blood work on my thyroid, liver and pancreas and all were normal. All blood work was normal. I sleep with the head of my bed elevated to try and alleviate the bile reflux and have tried Colestid, Questran, and Carafate which all make my stomach hurt. My problem now is that I have a "funny feeling" on my upper right side. I feel like I need to eat every few minutes. It is a slightly nauseaus but hungry feeling. I eat, but the feeling is still there. I wonder if this is the bile reflux or possibly something else. Nothing seems to be helping. Thanks in advance for your response.

I'm assuming it has been awhile since you have been seen for these symptoms. Have they rules out GERD? This can account for some of your symptoms. If bile is being regurgitated back into the stomach I wonder if there is not a problem with your liver or gallbladder. I'm not familiar with the normal levels for an EF of the gallbladder but 54% sounds low.
You need to go back to the doctor for this. An Upper GI series would be appropriate if they haven't already done one to see if any of your symptoms are coming from the small intestines as well. It doesn't sounds like it but worth a check. They really need to continue looking into this further for you.
I don't know if this helps but if you are chronically constipated that does cause the nausea all by itself. (But would not contribute to the reflux that you are having.)
Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Definately contact your GI doctor for further f/u.
