Please try to figure this out !!

On Feb 17, 1998, i had gall bladder surgery.  my gall bladder was only emptying 20 %.   I was tested with a HIDA SCAN w/ cck to diagnosis it.
I had 2 ultra sounds and just a plain HIDA scan prior to the diagnosis. Of course, all 3 were negative.  A month later, after tremendous pain it was found.  I was
elated !!  I would have my health back.  Feb 17 '98 was the surgery.  EXACTLY 7 days later, i began getting the SAME pains--as if i had my gallbladder.  I called
the surgeon  He saw me.  I was beginning to run a temp .  He said the temp  was not from my sugery and he was giving no antibiotic.  Said let him know in a week if i
am no better.  I am NO better.  Go back to him, have an "attack" in his office.  He does order an amalyse test--thinking it was pancreatitis.  That came out negative.
He told me to go back to my surgeon.  He could do nothing else for me. ( So from Feb 24 until today, April 23, i am having temps ranging from 95.5 to 100.5 in a matter of
hours. I have attacks, which paralyze me for hours, every 14 to 30 hours , nauseated for Hours, and pale as a ghost.  I have lost about 12 lbs.  I am only 5'51/2" and weigh
about 118-120 lbs.  My pains start around my right quadrant.  Then they roll over to my left, doubling me over.  It is like a rubber band around my rib cage/diaphram
tightening.    I get 'knife sharpening ' pains in my shoulder blades.  i have no quality of life---i have only one antibiotic in 18 yrs.  Am very active--takes alot
to get me down )   So after i left the surgeon (on Feb 24), i have had: another ultra sound, an ERCP, a CAT scan, blood work, barrium enema and an upper GI with a
small bowel follow thru--all came out negative.  Now the gastro doc tells me there is nothing he can do.  That is two doctors telling me they can do nothing for me.
this in unbelievable.  I have missed so much time from work since Jan 1--i never miss time.  What can i do??????  What in the work can it be ??????????

Dear Jodie,
Chronic abdominal pain is a difficult problem for patients.  It is not unusual for individuals to become frustrated and angry as they see their quality of life deteriorate.  Although your gall bladder function was abnormal, you did not write whether you actually had gallstones.  The work-up performed to investigate possible causes for the post-operative pain appears reasonably complete.  Unfortunately a cause for the pain and nausea was not identified.  Most of the common causes for pain have been excluded.  My only suggestions would be to have 1) a barium enema (if this test was not done) to exclude colonic causes and 2) a radionucleotide gastric emptying test to exclude gastroparesis (impaired gastric emptying) as the cause of your symptoms.
Best of luck.
