Pollen allergy causes sore throat and excessive acid??

Has anyone every heard of a pollen allergy or other allergy causing a burning throat and excessive acid?  I have had these symptoms from June to September in 1998, 1999, 2001 and now in 2002 it started in June and is still there.  I have had barium meal, ultrascan, pylori test and scope - all showed normal.  Doctor just diagnosed non ulcer dyspepsia and prescribed 20mg Nexium per day.  It does not seem to be caused by what I eat.

I just called my allergist today to ask if I could try slippery elm to help with a sore throat. I was not tested for Elm since they do not grow in our area, But have alot of allergies to many plants, grass, etc and did immunology shots for 3 years which helped along with lifestyle.
I was suggested to try just a small portion and see if hives or breathing changed.
Do you get hives or asthma ?

Usually, allergies & acid reflux are not related. The only link is that hard to treat asthma is can be related to GERD. One thing you could do would be to get allergy shots & see if that improves your acid reflux. Bet is that it won't.

Thanks for all the advice.  Following a conversation with a work colleague, I have cut all dairy produce from my diet for the past five days.  The sore throat and acid have improved a lot and I am no longer taking Nexium.  I know its early days yet, but I'm hopeful that I have found the answer to my problem.  Maybe this might be of some help to others suffering from gastro problems with no apparent cause.  Thanks again.
