Post Laparoscopic Fundoplication Surgery

I had Fundoplication Surgery 6 days ago but I am still experiencing a sensation of something stuck in my throat (at the Adams Apple). This was one of my main symptoms of GERD prior to the operation. Does this mean the surgery has failed or is this feeling due to something else?
Or am I just being an impatient patient and will post surgery symptoms improve after time? At the moment I am questioning if the surgery has neen worthwhile. I have also no appetite at all after the op although I am managing to eat a soft diet is this normal? I am managingto swallow OK and burp but have noticed a small internal burping sound which happens involuntary (just at my Adams Apple). Any comments much appreciated

Fundoplication has a failure rate ranging from 10 to 20 percent depending on the skill of the surgeon.  An upper GI series or 24-hr pH study can be considered to see if GERD is still present.

That being said, 6 days is relatively soon post-op, and you may want to wait for several months to weeks before coming to any conclusions about the surgery.  

Other causes of the symptoms would include post-nasal drip.  Treating rhinitis with nasal corticosteroids and imaging with a sinus CT scan can be considered.  

These options can be discussed with your personal physician.

I had this tipe of sugery (Nissen Fundoplication) and it did not help me. Now after 7 years a have a big hiatal hernia again an a "nice" Barrett esophagus! (excuse my por english I'm not from USA)

I had my Lap Nissen going on four years, lucky for me it was successful. It does take time to heal, so please give yourself that.

I had the Laparoscopic Nissen Fundoplication operation 10-1/2 years ago and it appears to have become unwrapped because I now can belch and vomit, which I couldn't do after the operation.  I have had IBS for a long time, not knowing what was going on, and had to go to the Emergency about a month ago with very low blood pressure and flu like symptioms and extreme weakness, and the doctor said it had to do with my Vaga Nerve, but thought I had a "bug". I understand others with this operation has had a problem with the Vaga Nerve.  I have not yet seen a doctor about this problem.  Over the last couple months or more, I have been feeling nauseous and weak and it is getting worse.  Has anyone else had this problem?

I had Nissan Fundoplication Surgery six months ago.  I am a professioanl singer and was having trouble with "Glottal Fry", (don't know if I spelled correctly) and some belching and a low grade but constant pain in the center of my chest.

I have received no help on the Vocal front but did get help with the belching, but now have terrible flatulance. The constant pain in my chest is still there, and I don't think reflux was the cause of my problems.  I want this sugery reversed, does anyone know if it can be done?  I can be reached at ***@****.  I am not very computer savvy, and might not be able to access replies on this bullitin board.
