Post gallbladder lap surgery pain around waist.

  I am a 41 year old woman that had gallbladder lap surgery 16 days ago. I have recovered pretty well since then except for one major problem. I have major sensitivity in a 3 inch area on my waistline. There are no scars there, nor is it on any of the 4 surgery cuts they gave me. I cant wear clothes because anything just touching this area is like a thousand needles poking me! Even the nightgown I wear is no relief. My surgeon had no answer for me except to say maybe my abdomen was still extended from the gas they use in the surgery, but that has gone down since then. I am getting pretty frustrated with this pain. I would like to be able to wear clothes again! Thank you for any help you can give.

I am uncertaibn as to why you should have pain at the waistline.  The next step is dependent on whether the pain is superfiocial ( in muscle or skin) or deep.  Local anesthesia could be considered for superficial pain whereas deep pain will require additional testing to look for intraabdominal problems.  You should return to your surgeon who can correlate the workup.
