: I had some stomach/heartburn pain recently and I've noticed that when I
sit or lie on my back I feel a pulsing in my stomach.
Is this normal? I've heard that an abdominal aortic aneurysm can cause
this type of feeling. I've had an upper GI and gallbladder ultrasound.
Would these tests be able to rule out an AAA.

Dear Janice,
Gallbladder ultrasound can identify an abdominal aortic aneurysm if the technologist included an examination of the aorta in the study.  It is necessary to ask the radiologist if the aorta was visualized.  Abdomil pulsations can be felt normally by people who are thin.
