: Thank you for your response.  Could colon trouble send sharp pains to the upper right quadrant?  I am unable to sleep on my right side and it is getting that when I bend down or wear tight clothes is hurts more. Don't most people with IBS notice some relief with librax after a few days?  I have been on it for 6 days now, and the pain is worse.  What possiblities would exist in the colon or small intestine to produce this pain?
______
Dear Lynn,
With regard to Irritable Bowel syndrome, a)it is possible to develop pains in the right upper quadrant and b) not everybody gets better with Librax.  In general terms, a major cause of abdominal pain is inflammation (specifically Crohn's disease of small intestine and/or colon).  It is necessary to also ruleout diseases of kidney, gall bladder and pancreas as the cause of your pain
