For about a month I've had an ache / cramp in my rectum off and on. It usually feels OK 1st thing in the morning and then is worse towards bedtime. I have no other symptons, everything is normal, no blood, bowel problems etc. Basic blood tests showed nothing abnormal, also PSA is OK. I've had some basic hemorrhoids on the outside but nothing major according to my doc. Could this be stress related or something structural gone wrong? I work out at the gym often but am also under considerable stress.

I can identify with this pain.  I've suffered with (what I call) rectal spasms for years, and the pain at times leaves me totally wasted.  I'd like to know what causes this and if it can be corrected.  I have at times, put pressure just above the pubic bone in the middle, (on the advise of a theraputic massuse), thus allowing the muscles in the pelvic & rectal area to relax.  I don't know if this would work with males, but I've found that having an orgasm (sorry if this is a touchy subject, but I've gotten desperate!), has always corrected the pain.  I would venture to say, that after orgasm, the pelvic & rectal muscles naturally relax, and maybe this is why it helps.  Hey, it wouldn't hurt to try it.  Like I said, the pain is excruciating & if this helps then great!
