Well here I am at 1am reading about the same symptoms that I have also.
I am a professional session vocalist and about a year ago, I started
having problems singing.  I went to the best ENT in Ontario and had some
tests done including a stroboscopy and a barium test.  Both confirmed GERD.
However !!, As I have been reading on the net tonight for the past 3 hours,
some of these symptoms may me masquerading (SP) as "Post nasal drip"
(PND)  It is my understanding now that as mucus thickens, it collects and
pools on your throat causing it to get infected as it is just sitting
there.  The infection can therefore cause irratibility, and redness
surrounding the larynx and the epiglotis.  I have found that a saline
nasal spray, humidifier, and irrigator have helped alot.  I do still feel
the reflux from time to time but the PND counter measures seem to
allieviate it fairly quickly.
