: After 4 1/2 years of a very unsettled and painful digestive problem,it has finally been decided that my problem is gluten intolerance-only 2 weeks of being on a gluten free diet has certainly made a difference. What I would like to know,is have I done any permanent damage to my intestines, and how long will it take for my digestive system to return to normal? The bloating, wind, pain and mucous have all gone, but I still have very loose stools-will they return to `normal`,if so,how long?
: Thanks in advance

Jill, I read your post reagarding gluten intolerence. How did the doctor
come up with the dx ?, did you have a small biopsy, and necessary blood
work to test for gluten intolerance. I have been going through the same
thing, and am in the process of starting a "gluten free" diet, per my
physician directions. I would be interested in speaking with you regarding
what you have been through. Possibly you could offer some suggestions, etc.
