Hi..
Last year I went to the emergency room by ambulance...my
heart went into atrial fibrilation....I was
terrorified....after that I started to notice my heart
flutter alot...and beat out of wack...I also realise that I
belch a whole lot...I am very under weight...I"m 5.4" and
only 99 pounds...I'm under alot of stress....I have a hard
time swallowing...but I know alot of it is caused by the
stress....I'm afraid to swallow cause I don't want to
choke....I was just eating a grilled hamburger and as I was
sitting on the couch eating my heart started beating really
funny....I put my food down..and started to almost
panic...its a horrible feeling....I'm very scared of
this...I am not eating right now...and I do seem to be
burning a little bit in the stomach and chest area..not
very much....I made myself start burping and went to the
restroom...and now I seem to be o.k...this is a very scary
thing .....is it a known fact that acid reflux can cause an
arrythmnia??  I'm going to really try and get my doctor to
help me with this.....I've only been to him once and not
sure what to ask...I have copied some of the letters and
will take that to him so he doesn't think I made it up...
what can I take to help me right now...I can not swallow
pills I never have been able to...all my life and I'm 32
now...I still take only liquids...I've choked several times
trying to take pills so is there anything that I can
take..??
I hope to hear from someone..soon.....
thank you for your time...
debbie

Hi Debbie. I have similar symptoms. I get the palpitations
frequently, and it used to scare me until I was diagnosed with Mitral Valve Prolapse. it is not life threatning, athough youshould see yur doctor to rule out any other type of problem. Stress can make palpitations worse, but now that I know its nthing serious, I am able to relax, and it goes away. I hope you find this helpful. Good luck. Nicole
