My wife has been itching badly lately, mostly in her head area, but also on other parts of her body.  It is not lice.  We had an incident with lice a year or so ago, so we are familiar with what to look for, etc.
Someone was telling her about scabees (sp?).  What are these and what else could it be?
Hi,
This response is from an interested, non-medical reader.  My children contracted these and I remember their skin had little tiny bumps where the parasites had laid their eggs.  I believe the treatment was the same
as for the head louse and Kwell lotion killer the little critter's.
Scabies is a contagious skin disease caused by a parasitic mite that burrows under the skin to deposit eggs, causing intense itching.
A product that I've learned about, Farna Lotion is for skin itchiness that hepatitis victims endure.  Hope some of this information is helpful until you receive a medically qualified one.
