I saw blood on my stool sometimes. I do not see this frequently,
maybe 4 times in the last 2 years. I have already checked this
website for other questions describing simliar symptoms and from
the answers that I saw, it appears that if the blood is mixed
with the stool rather than on the surface of the stool, then I
should go see a specialist. Can you provide a more detail
explanation of the difference between blood mixed with the
stool and blood on the surface of the stool. My second
question is, if it is a serious illness such as cancer, wouldnt
the symptom or the blood appear on a regular basis?
I have just gone thru this problem, the docs on this site were very helpful to me
a serious problem often bleeds off and on, and not always.
My blood was on the stool, and in the stool both, and it was only noticable
twice in the past year.
I was told it should always be check by a physician because of the serious things
that can be wrong.  In my case I had a colonoscopy, and it was internal hemmeroids
and divuticulosis.
Good luck!! Have it checked, but don't plan your funeral just yet.. :-)
(0f course go by what the docs recommend, I JUST thought you might like to
hear from someone who had just gone thru the check up for the same thing.
