Abdominal pain can be due to a number of different causes.  Pain under the right ribs could be a symptom of several conditions including gall bladder disease, duodenal ulcer, liver disease, kidney disease, or irritable bowel syndrome.  It is possible that the physiologic changes associated with nursing are contributing to your pain, but I would suggest that you be evaluated by youtr physician before any conclusions are drawn regarding the cause of your pain.  Your physician will obtain a detailed history
including the factors that make your pain better and worse and whether you have any other symptoms e.g. fever, chills, vomiting, diarrhea.  He may order blood tests, an ultrasound of your gall bladdere and either an X-ray or endoscopy (a test during which you swallow a small telescope while sedated) to visualise your stomach and duodenum.
