Result to Ultra Sound

Result to Ultra Sound

My result to an ultra sound test states the following, what does it mean.
1) Liver appeared normal apart from a well defined echogenic area lying just anteria to the common hepatic duct and appearance strongly suggest a small hemangiom 1.5cc.
2) The gallbadder appears contracted and it was therefore qite difficult to examine but appearance suggest that there are some stones within it. The common bile duct was not dilated measiring 3.44mm
3) Is gallbladder sugery my only answer to this problem?

The ultrasound shows a small hemangioma as well as gallstones.  A liver hemangioma is a benign lesion that normally requires no treatment, unless it is causing symptoms.

The gallstones are not an uncommon finding.  Surgery is normally considered if the gallstones are causing symptoms (i.e. nausea, vomiting, right upper quadrant pain).  If there are no symptoms, then gallstones can normally be observed.

These options can be discussed with your personal physician.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
