Second Opinion Needed

I started developing severe stomach problems about 6 months ago after dealing what was diagnosed to be a viral inner ear infection that kept me dizzy and lightheaded for about 3 months. Although at first my GP attributed this to my worrying over my condition, it has now progressed to a suspected diagnosis of IBS. I seem to have most of the symptoms, except blood was detected in my stools and I have lost 15 pounds over this time period. I have ocasional hemmoroid troubles and bloody sinus infections that may explain the blood in my stool, and have experienced 10 pound swings in my weight in the past, but I am growing more concerned as my weight does not come back, even as I know am starting to feel better. Could I be experiencing trouble with my liver or pancreas? My stools will be checked again later this week and I am going to suggest another blod test. Should I also about X-rays, etc of my mid-section? A colonoscopy, upper GI, and examination of my stomach showed no problems. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks

Dear stephen S,
If you had a normal colonscopy, and uper endoscopy, then you have excluded most of the serious problems that could be causing your symptoms.  Liver disease can be easily excluded by a blood test.  Finally, your symptoms are not suggestive of pancreatic disease. I wonder if your problem was an ear infection with exacerbation of your underlying IBS. If you are starting to feel better, it is possible that your weight will start to increase shortly.
