Secreting oil from there...

It was bizzare.I suddenly had an extra long duration of continous and involuntary farting with the secretion of a sunset dark red orangey liquid from the anus.It was dripping between my legs right up to the floor. There was no stool. The smell is terrible, not exactly like the smell of feces,its a mix of mild feaces smell,slightly fishy and smells somewhat like an elephant's stool.My friends said the symtoms (symptoms) are like people who eat the drug Xenical (orlistat), having oily secretion from the anus flowing freely but, I did not eat any diet or anti fat drug, or Xenical.In fact, I didn't eat any drugs.When I go to pass motion, I drip oil first,that the stool and when I touch my anus,its extremely oily and it was so difficult to wash.it's was quite persistent.And there were drops of orangey red droplets on the toilet bowl.I have no liver, or GE system problem but I have a bad habit of vomitting some bitter liquid in the morning when I brush my tongue.Now,how come I am secreting so much oil fr below and any connection with the vomitting of that bitter liquid?

Have you told your doctor about this...if not i think you should.

I went to the doctor next day.She insist that it's not oil but some other liquid despite me telling her that the liquid floats on water.Andway, when she examine me, she found that I have a fissure and some piles.And referred me to the colorectal doctor.Ok,I found out that I have piles, but the orangey liquid, I still don't know what it is...ever heard of anyone with this condition?Come to think of it, it happened to me before but the discharge was not so bad.

I too suffer from that oily stuff. But I also suffer alot of pain. It has taken doctors two years to realise that Ive been trying to explain that the oil is not in the stools, just by its self. They are now looking into my pancreas. I finally managed to give them a specimen of the oil the other day and they were shocked to say the least! Best thing you can do is get a sample and take it to your doctor then she will understand that IT IS OIL and ITS NOT PERFECTLY NORMAL!! or change your doctor. It took me 3 years and 5 doc's to finally get one to listen to me and my 'non-specific' symtoms (symptoms), but I feel my suffering is finally coming to end!

Wow,finally someone has the same condition. I thought I was strange. Anyway, I read up on Merck's manual that people who suffer from oil discharges could be suffering from Chronic Pancreastitis.It's occur in 70% of alcoholics and about 2% is idiopathic.Lipase,an enzyme that is manufactured in the pancreas digest fats and either is it produced in low amounts due to a defect in the pancreas or it's totally non existent suddenly.So, oil will be discharged and the person will have stearrhoea (oily stool)If the pancreas is totally damaged, Diabetes could also set in due to lack of Insulin and Protease (digest Proteins) also will decrease, therefore, there will be protein in the stool as well.I'm seeing a colorectal doctor tomorrow, so I'll see how it goes.May I ask if your oil discharge is foul smelling and sunset red in colour?I suggest you cut down majorly on oily food. Thats what I did.And I haven't had any oily discharges since.Keep your comments flowing.

really?well,I was told to go for a colonoscope.my doc said, piles could be the cause of oil being secreted from the anus. going for the colonoscope was not the problem. the bowel preparation on the night before was terrible. You have to drink at least 2L of water in 2hrs containing some yucky stuff to clear your bowel and this is the tough part of the scope-Bowel treatment! tell you more about the scope....

I can't say mine is sunset red but very orange, although the other day I had a bout of dark orange oil. This could be due to Creon 10,000 pills I given when I handed my specimen in. I wouldn't say mine was foul-smelling but it has a strange pungent smell, not what you would expect from that end anyway. I don't eat oily foods and neither do I cook with oil, so that rules me out, but I do have a bad time digesting foods and over the last four years i'd lost over 2 stone in weight and cannot put it back on. I too have had a colonscope (twice) and  a gastroscope to no avail. I'm due for a small bowel x-ray soon, so we'll see if anything comes of that, I'll keep you informed.

Well,i finally went through the colonoscope.It was notmal,so my doctor probably will look into the pancreas next as thats everyones best bet.If the pancreas is normal too, then, I guess someone spiked my food with Xenical and thus that kinda of oily secretion. But it's kinda impossible for that.Bec if ur taking Xenical,you're be excreating oil for at least 3-4 days. And this is the second time it happened to me. What are the odds of someone doing that to me twice? I will keep u informed too.At the moment, I'm not losing weight and my food habits are back to normal. I'm eating everything, therefore, putting on weight.I've been eating really oily stuff to see if it happens again, but it didn't.It's kinda strange....

Good grief!  The very same thing just happened to me!  I don't feel in the least bit sick...did they finally diagnos you with something?  Perhaps I'll just lay off foods with any fat and see if that helps...my diet has been atrocious lately!

I am 25 years old.  I have had tests done for the last 4 months to find out why I have bright orange oil in my stool.  No one knows.  I wouldn't mind, but I am in so much pain on my left side under my ribs before and after I go to the bathroom.  I am starting to feel hopeless and overwhelmed because I am a single mother and a student.  I don't have good insurance and no one has helped me so far.  It is not blood in my stool and I have had two blood tests for bacteria.  But I have been throwing up violently for 24 to 48 hours on and off since the orange stool came.  I have cut out all meat and dairy products but the pain is so unbareable....please someone help me!!!!

Have you actually shown a sample of the oil to the doc? When I did show my GI a specimen it helped give them a better clue to what was happening. I agree you should insist on having a CT scan rather than going through routine tests which I did for the last two years with no results. Im just waiting for my results of the scan and praying they can relieve me of my pain!

Also, has anyone ever heard or known a person vomit black sick? I've done this several times, on each occasion I have been out drinking. I drink mixers and always presumed it was the cola. It happened again yesterday. (I did have alot to drink but wouldnt say I was really drunk but Im not a regular drinker) I was out cold for about an 40mins, I came to when the paramedics arrived and took me to hospital. But I was so embarrassed and upset I dicharged myself. They did say that black sick could mean there is blood present, I feel ok at the moment but now Im worried. Any suggestions?

I have had both Acute and now Chronic Pancreatitis.  I don't recall of any discharge as what has been described, but that doesn't mean that the symptom does not exist as a symptom of Pancreatitis, I just have not had that "fortune".

The pancreas does secrete enzymes to digest Fats AND Proteins.  So, if you are not secreting enough, you will have very foul smelling bowels, and fatty substances floating after a BM.  

There are tests that can be done, blood tests, that can determine if your enzyme levels are too high, indicating an Acute flare-up of the pancreas.  Please check with your GASTROENTEROLOGIST as soon as possible to have the tests performed.  Amylase & Lipase are the enzymes.
