Septated liver cyst

Septated liver cyst

After an having an echocardiogram done, they incidentally found "hepatic cysts."  I followed up on this with an ultrasound, where they found 2 cysts on my liver...one was simple, and the other septated.  They recommended a follow up ultrasound in 6 months.  I'm not having any symptoms.  Is this reasonalble?  What exactly could this mean?  I'm anxious, and really don't want to wait 6 months for answers.  Thanks.

I agree with the tests thus far.

The f/u ultrasound in 6 months seems reasonable if the diagnosis are truly benign liver cysts.  This is done to ensure the cysts aren't enlarging.

If there is question about the diagnosis itself, a CT scan or MRI would be the tests of choice to further define the cyst.

Another opinion could be sought if there continues to be questions, preferably at a major academic medical center.
