Severe stomach pain, Doctors don't why!

My father is 51yrs old, he was admitted into the hospital on this past Tuesday, he has severe stomach pain and has not eaten solid foods in one full week, and has no desire to eat. He has had a blocked intestine before and this seemed like it was the same. The Hospital ran a CT test and did not see any blockage or bleeding in the abdoman(He has a pacemaker and is on Cumaden to thin his blood). They put a cathader in to see if his bladder was causing the problem and it was not. The doctors have said that they really don't see anything wrong with him, no tumors, infections, or anything showed up on the CT scan or blood tests. His stomach has not made any sounds or anything, it is swollen and very tender to the touch, on the side where his appendix was. The appendix was removed many years ago. We have been told that it could be colon cancer or ulcer, stomach cancer, or part of his appendix could still be there, but they were really not sure. Today he had to drink 1 gallon of a laxative, and he did pass it, but he still has the pain and swelling. Any Ideas?
