Small bowel stricture

Small bowel stricture

  Hello, Again:
Well, if you don't remember, I'll make a short and sweet report on myself.
I had my gallbadder removed and they were unable to get in my bile duct
and I cont. to have right upper quad pain with nausea and vomiting and
so they did and ercp and I developed pancreatitis and got over that
and now instead of just right quad pain now I have back pain and mid
abd pain.  I had an mrcp (I'm the one with the plate in arm) and it came
out neg except for something they said that looked like some stricture
in my small bowel.  Now my question.  Can this cause the pain that
I've been having and what do they usually do for this?  My doctor
doesn't seem too concerned because he just left a message for me to
follow up in January.  By the way, my amylase is now back to normal
so that's good news.  Thanks for the help.

Dear Charlotte,
An esophageal stricture will cause symptoms of abstruction (crampy abdominal pain usually around the belly button) if it is tight.  I do not think that the stricture is the cause for youer symptoms.
