Sonogram Results???

Thank you so much for your response last week, I agree I think alot of symptoms have to do with hypothyroidism, but with my liver enzymes elevated and wierd response and edema to carbs, decided to have one of my freinds do a sonogram off the record??  First let me say she is not a radiologist but does these sonograms for a living, so she says that she saw a little bit of fat running thru liver but nothing to write home about, but she did say that the IVC running thru the liver was dilated???  What does that mean??

She also said that the gallbladder did not have any stones, but it had thickened walls??  What does that mean?  

So she then took a quick look at my heart and said that it was slightly enlarged??  

What do I do??  I have scheduled a MRI today, just not sure if it is better with contrast or without?  

should I see a Gastro doc, or Cardiologist??  

HAd EKG this morning--says slightly enlarged heart and brachycardia, HR was 52, but of course I am a runner so I am guessing that part is ok??

First off, I would obtain a formal ultrasound of the abdomen and get an official radiology read.

There are possible findings that you're listing, including an enlarged IVC, fatty liver, and thickened gallbladder walls, which all may be associated with a variety of diseases, including gallbladder infection, gallstones, or increased pressure within the hepatic veins.

An enlarged heart can be further evaluated with an echocardiogram.

Before doing anything, I would obtain official reads of these studies first.
