Stomach Virus still effecting me?

  : : About 2 years ago, I had a very painful experience where I thought my intestine was going to explode.  I thought it may have been my appendix (sp?), but I visited the doctor and was told that I had a stomach virus.  He gave me a liquid combined of two substances (called it a stomach cocktail) and the pain soon went away.  For awhile after that, though, I was having troubles with digesting some foods (especially milk) and on occasion had some really bad looking 'stool samples'.  Although those symptoms seem to have subsided, it now seems that I have bad breath/body odor problems and I was told that it could be related to a gastrointestinal problem.  Are all of theses things linked, and what should I do?  I haven't really gone to see a since that happened to me 2 years ago, and I was wondering if all the symptoms point to something in common.  Is there anything I can do without having to see the doctor again, or is this case something more serious?

Dear Dan,
I do not think that your current problems are related to your previous infection.  If you are not having abdominal pain or diarrhea at this time, there is no reason to conclude that you have an intestinal infection.
