Stomach cancer question

I just posted a question a few days ago and forgot to ask this specific question.

For the last 6 weeks I have been suffering from nausea, lack of appetite and some diarrhea and have lost about 15 pounds. I am 41years old.

I did a full blood test which was normal except for showing H pylori infection. Also did a abdominal ultrasound which was normal. I am now treating the H pylori.
I did a full upper endoscopy in Dec of 2005(because of bothersome acid reflux) which showed Gerd and gastritis.

My main question is..
Is it possible for stomach cancer to develop in an 18month time period. Aren't gastric cancers usually slow growing? Would stomach cancer be unlikely at this point?

Thank you

It is possible for stomach cancer to develop that quickly, although it is certainly uncommon.  I agree that the chances are less likely.

However, to be sure, if you are still having symptoms, a repeat upper endoscopy can be considered to evaluate for this possibility.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
