In 1995, I had my gallbladder removed and an umbilical hernia
repaired at the same time.   In 1996, I had the hernia repaired a
second time.  In 1998, three months ago, I had the same hernia
repaired again.  Mesh was NOT used in any of the hernia surgeries.
I have been suffering with abdominal distension for the past 2 1/2
months.  I have had a CT, an ultrasound, a Flex Sigmoidoscopy,a
BE, an upper GI with small bowel follow through and all types of
blood work as well as a test for C-difficle (as I had a bad case
of it several years ago)  The CT showed a 1.5 CM Rt. Renal cyst, and
the BE showed some diverticulum pouches, but all else was normal.
My surgeon says there is no diagnosis.  Distension is such that
sitting hurts, and standing up I look as though I am about 6 months
pregnant. I am a normally healthy 5'3" 120 lb female, 49 years old.
Some days I can vary in weight by 5-9 lbs between morning and night.
All tests were done on an empty stomach first thing in the morning.
Please advise if you have any ideas.
Thanks!
