Treatments

  Three years ago I was diagnosed with a 15cm fibrolomelar carcinoma on my liver, with no signs of the cancer having spread anywhere else.  My liver was resected, but approximately one year ago, I had a reoccurance.  For nine months I was treated with adriamyacin and 5FU chemotherapy treatments with the results being that the tumors (my new tumors are on an adjucent lymph node and my liver and are approx 2-3 cm) did not grow.  I was taken off of the therapy to see what would happen.  Three months later I have a 3cm node in my lungs and the tumor on my lymph node has grown also.  At this point, what are my treatment options.  I am looking for a second third and fourth opinion.
  Any options at this point will be considered as I am 24, never smoked, drank, had hepatitis or been over seas. I have a wife and two children.  Please help me if you can.

I have discussed your information with our transplant hepatologists.  They suggested that you contact the National Cancer Institute to learn if they have any special protocols for patients with your problem.
