Tumor?

Tumor?

At the end of May I went to the doctors because I had this lump under my arm like by my arm pit and found out it was a fatty tumor but not cancerous but its September now and it still hurts real bad.Could this be getting worse or could it turn into cancer? The doctor didn't explain it very well to me at all so im not sure what it all means?

A few weeks ago..just before my period was to start I also discovered a lump..not directly on the underarm where the hair would grow mine was closer to the side of the underarm area above where the side of your breast ends.
I phoned my doctor's office right away and explained my find and was told to wait until after my period as it could be due to hormonal changes. After my period the lump did go down alot...almost went away. I went to my doctor and he felt it and told me it was a harmless cyst. He asked me if it caused me pain and it does. Almost like an itchy sore feeling and it can make my whole underarm ache. I asked for an appointment for a mammogram and you should do the same if you still feel scared and unsure.
This lump is where the side of your breast meets your underarm area but up higher...I do hope women know to check their under arm area while doing a self examine. I never did...the only thing that made me check it was because it felt tender in that area. When I was younger i used to get alot of lumps on my underarm area where the hair would grow. That I was told by my doctor was a infected Sweat Gland, and it would go away by itself ..which it always did. That was sore too.
If you are still unsure and scared..go back to your doctor and ask for it to be checked out more extensively.

I've had cysts since my early 20's - I'm now in my 50's.  There was never a need to remove them.  Yes, you should definately have them checked out but from my own experience and the doctor's input over the years, a lump that hurts is seldom cancer.  Cancer doesn't hurt in the early stages.  A lump that changes in size is not cancer, especially before and after your periods.  If you are over 40, regular mammograms will be in order (every other year until age 50).  If you have a history of breast cancer in your family, then the doctor may want to mointor you regardless of age.

I suspect you have a cystic condition which is bothersome but not dangerous.

Avoid caffine and start taking Evening Primrose Oil - I've been taking these for years now and it eliminated the achey (achy) feelng and soreness in my breasts.
