Uncontrolable bowels

Hi there, I hoping to hear some sugguestions about what I feel is a huge problem in my life. I have had 3 kids and the last one was three years ago. Shortly after having had my 2nd child, I started to experience the innability to control myself. I would have next to NO warning and before I knew it it would be too late. Since having my 3rd and final child, I again seem to suffer from this humiliating problem. Even if I have a regular bowel movement I rarely would call it normal. I seem to suffer from alot of cramping, sweating and ocaisionally I even get goosebumps. It seems that I remember feeling like this when I have been ill before but now it is all of the time. I don't have hemmoroids (hemorrhoids), but I can often cause bleeding by the excessive urge to bear down. I have a hard time going places with my family for fear of an accident. There is nothing more humiliating that losing control of yourself- unless you are the child of someone who does.   Please help!!

Hi,
I am online looking for help for my healthy young husband who suffers from embarassing fecal incontinence and saw your question.

i have found a lot of info that is specific to women who have had children who suffer from bowel incontinence also known as anal incontinence or fecal incontinence.

the cause seems to be damage (or stretching) to your perineum floor (due to vaginally delivering babies {like we haven't suffered enough!}) and can be corrected by either meds or surgery.
the sites i visited recommended (i used 'ask jeeves' for info on fecal incontinence) going to your doc or gastrologist.  this form of incontinence seems to be common among women who have had vaginal births and/or anal trauma.

good luck!!

I also have uncontroable diahrea. I dont even get a stomach cramp to warn me that this is coming. It just starts pouring out and it is very embarrising as you also know. I wear pads but they are not enough. In 1970 I had my tail bone removed and I have had this problem ever since, although now that I am older (62) it has gotten worse. Please someone outthere tell me a cure! I have had all the normal tests done and still know nothing. Thanks

You need to get checked for Celiac Disease.  You have one of the main symptoms of it.  It usually onlu occurs in infants and in older people but I am only 19 and I have it and have had it for about 3 years.  let mine go for about three years until I read an article about Celiac disease and insisted that I be tested for it.  All it is is a wheat allergy that damages your intestines which cause you not to absorb nutirents from your food and which cause your food to go right through you.  All you need is a simply blood test to check for certain antibodies and it will tell you if you have it or not.  The only treatment is to get off of all wheat prodcuts and things like that.  I have been off of the wheat for about  a month and I feel 90 percent better than I have in the last 3 years.  It is amazing the difference you will feel if that is what you have and you start to treat it.  Also if it is left untreated it can cause cancer so I sould recommend you get checked for it.  It is the most common disease in the united states but the most misdiagnosed.  I am trying to spread the word to everyone that I can about Celiac because most doctors dont even know much about it.  Please write back and let me know what you find out.  THanks!
