Upper right abdomen pain

Upper right abdomen pain

Hello,

For a few days I have been experiencing some mild pain on my upper right abdomen, just below the rib cage. The pain is not there all the time and doesn't cause much discomfort.
But it intensifies if I stretch. It goes all the way to my back. Feels actually more like back pain, or muscle pain.
The other situation where it seems to intensify a bit is with jumping.
Any suggestion what this could indicate? I have an appointment with my doctor next week. But I get worried if this could be something urgent.

Thank you.

That's where the gallbladder and liver is, and conditions involving those organs should be evaluated for.

I would consider blood tests to evaluate the liver function, and obtain an abdominal ultrasound.

If negative, the next step would be an upper endoscopy or upper GI series to exclude digestive disorders.

These options should be discussed with your personal physician.
