Vitamin D and change in stool odor

Vitamin D and change in stool odor

After I started taking 1,000 iu daily two-three months ago I have noticed a change in the stool odor.  It is now very consistent every day and with a very distinct smell.  Before it would change according to what I ate the day before.  Is this to be expected with intake of vitamin D, or could it be a sign of a medical condition?

I am not aware of vitamin D changing the odor of the stool, although I can't say it isn't impossible.

Testing the stool for infection and malabsorption can be considered to see if these can lead to changes in the stool's smell and character.
