What can i do?

What can i do?

I have been having 'stomach problems for the past 7 months. When i say problems - i have been vomiting and feeling sick almost every other day.

I've seen 3 doctors and 1 specialist, had numerous blood tests done, had an endoscopy and a CT scan and frankly I'm losng hope.

I led a normal life up until July 2001, until one day at the start of my mentral cycle i nearly passed out at work with severe stomach cramps. Since then i've been on 5 different types of medication - lost over one and a half stone in weight and eat next to nothing due to a loss in appetite.

I have never suffered from any weight disorers - i was a healthy size 12 and happy with my weight.

Any more suggestions?

Have they checked your Pancreas?  You might have pancreatitis.  It is worth having the doctors do some bloodwork.  I wish you the best of luck.

Simmy, have you ever been checked for endometriosis.  It can effect your stomach, appetite, cause vomiting and passing out.  You did say you were having problems with your period?

I had endometriosis, and it is severe pain (feels like stomach). It causes nausea, headaches, and it is difficult to function. I had this pain seven days before my period started. I had my uterus taken out and the pain has been gone ever since.
I suggest that you see your OB/GYN to check you for this. They can do a scope to see if that is what is causes you pain and suggest the best steps to take from there.
Good luck! If you would like more information from me feel free to e-mail me at gleeson_lisa***@****

I know I suggest this a lot but have you had a Gastric Emptying Study done?  Loss of Apetite, Nausea, Vomiting, and weight loss are all symptoms of Gastroparesis(stomach paralysis).  Symptoms can get worse around the menstrual cycle although many women say it tends to get better.  I've noticed my cycle is actually worse and I have Gastroparesis.

Before I was dianosed with Endometriosis, I was diagnosed with IBS and Gastroparesis and Reflux.  I was on a ton of meds. --I lost 40lbs--coulnd't eat anything really.  After diagnosis of endo, 2 surgeries and successful treatment with Lupron for the endo--my G.I. problems went away.  Go figure--all docs tried to tell me that the G.I. problems and the endo just COULD not be connected.  Well, it's been 3 years since my last surgery for endo and the symptoms are coming back (endo is a recurring disease in most cases).  I have nausea before and during my period, excess stomach acid--the works.  I just started taking meds for Gastroparesis again and also for the acid.  Getting ready to schedule another surgery.  I would definately recommend a gastric emptying study to you--especially if you have endo.  AND don't let anyone tell you that's it's all stress--I got that one.  Glad I didn't let them convince me that I was nuts.
