White in the stool

White in the stool

Hello I am a 14 year old male. For the past two days I have noticed white patches in my stools. The entire stool isn't covered by the white, just one patch of it. I don't know what it could be and I was wondering if anyone could fill me in. Also, I've recently been diagnosed with lactose intolerance and have been taking the lactaid pills before each  meal containing milk, but I still have increased gas and mild stomach discomfort. What could be causing both of these things?

salt can cause stool to be white, but so can hepatitis.  Lactaid does not work for everyone.  I use it and am lactose intolerant but it doesn't always work.  Try to avoid lactose and see if it helps at all.  Lactose is simply a sugar found in a lot of foods.  It has other names like sorbitol.  It is in beans, ice cream, cheese, milk, diet foods, etc.  Rice is one of the few grains that does not cause gas.  Syrup is a killer for me.  Anything with a large amount of sugar causes me to have problems, including fruits because they contain fructose which is a lactose.  Peaches, plums, and apples can cause problems.  I would stick to vegetables and fruits that are less sweet.  Your doctor may even be able to prescribe you a stronger lactose enzyme.
