acid reflux

Hi, Hope you can help me with this....when referring to chest pain with esophagus problems, is the pain usually, always or generally in the center of the chest?
____________
Dear Leesa:
Esophageal causes of chest pain include reflux esophagitis, esophageal spasm and esophageal ulceration.  Usually pain is located in the center of the chest, behind the breast bone and just above the diaphragms.  The location, however, can vary insome patients to include upper abdomen, neck  and back.
You must be aware that chest pain is not specific for esophageal disease. Diseases of  lungs, heart, muscular skeletal system. Gall bladder and stomach can cause chest pain.
