after having hiatal hernia repair

I am 52 years old. Due to chest and burning in the throat I had an EGD done and then a Hida scan. The EGD showed a small hiatal hernia, biopies were negative. The Hida scan showed poor to little functioning. I had the gall bladder removed. I continued with symptoms of burning in the throat and had a motility study done with  a PH study. The motility was okay but the PH study showed excess acid in spite of Prevacid twice a day. I have now had the hiatal hernia repair but continue with burning of the throat. I am taking Precid again twice a day, with no help. My father had the same problem many years ago and they did a vagotomy for him (30 years ago). He finally got relief. What choices do I have at this time as the symptoms continue to be very difficult to deal with on a daily basis?

Ask your doctor about Nexium.  In my opinion its a much better prescription drug than Prevacid is.  Good luck to you.
