belch/burping

Hi
I can not belch/burp , this causes  bloating and severe pain after eating-drinking the only way i can relieve this is by inducing vomit action (not actually vommiting). this gives me instant relief. but i'm sure this action cant be good long term. i am 44 yr old male and have never been able to belch. does any one have suggestion.

Bloating and upper GI pain can be evaluated with an upper endoscopy - which can evaluate for ulcers, GERD or inflammation of the stomach or esophagus.  Any masses found can also be seen with this test, and this can interfere with the burping mechanism.  

I would also image the liver and gallbladder with an ultrasound or CT scan.
