bile reflux and gastritis surgery to correct

I have gastroparesis, IBS, and reflux esophagitis.
I had a fundaplication, gall bladder surgery, and
a pyloroplasty. In Aug.2005, I had the pylorplasty.
I have bile relux constantly. I have much pain and
nausea all the time.  No medicines really work. Questran
helps but it makes me so nauseous, I can't take it.
Can you tell me about the roux-en-y loop surgery?
Can this help me. What are the side effects of this
surgery. I really feel I can't go on like this.
Thanks!

I am not a surgeon, so my insight into this question is limited.

For bile acid reflux that is not improved with medical therapy (i.e. Ursodiol, Sucralfate), then the Roux-en-y surgery is considered for more definitive treatment of bile acid reflux.  There is the usual complications of this surgery, including infection and bleeding.  The success rate of the procedure  ranges between 50 and 90 percent.  This rate is decreased in those with gastroparesis.

I would discuss this option with your personal physician or surgeon.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.

Has anyone had a fundaplication and a pyloroplasty.
I have gastroparesis, IBS, and reflux disease.
After the pyloroplasty I am having constant sromach spasms
and nausea. No medicines seem to help. The Questran helps
but it makes me so nauseous. I can't take it.
Has anyone had a roux-en-y loop surgery? and does it work?
and what are some of the side effects?

I'm new on this forum and my english is very poor. I'm 31 now, in 1999 I had Nissen Fundoplication for reflux and hiatal hernia but my simptomes did not improved. In March 2001 a had colecistectomy for gallblader (gallbladder) stone but no improvment again. In autumn 2001 I discovered that I have bile relux too. The surgeon decided Roux-en-y(gastroenteroanastomosis T-T) or something like that. After the surgery I lost weight about 10 Kg! I felt better about a year after, after this period I felt like before heartburn, disfagia and so on! In present it's unbelievable what is happening with me! I'm a "wreck", I developed hiatal hernia again, Barrett esophagus!, reflux esophagitis, secondary malabsorbtion syndrome, and the list is endless. I take Losec, sucralfate, domperidonum, sleeping pills, vitamines, minerals and so on. I am also unable to sleep on elevated bed. I think you should think again whith your phisician before making a decision.
