My husband was recently dx'd w/colon CA & had a colon resection on2/17/99, surgeon believed got all CA.  Had 5/29 in lynph nodes.  CT scan revealed tumor on liver which bx reveal- ed was colon mets.  Is scheduled for liver resection 3/19/99.  Is to begin IV chemo 4 wks postop.  A titanium pump will be placed in abdomen for concentrated chemo to be delivered directly to the liver, also 4 wks postop.  My questions & concerns are:   What side effects should we watch for (in IV chemo & liver chemo)?  What, if any, preventative measures can we begin now to assist in alleviating, and/or decreasing, the side effects of both chemos?  Is there any type of nutritional supplements, natural vitamins,and/or special diet/regimen he should begin to counteract the side effects of the chemo?  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  He is in otherwise great health, 43 yrs old, and is no meds prior to this chemo in his future.  We have both asked Drs. about our concerns, as to the info about preventa-
tive measures.  If it wasn't in the premed books, it doesn't exist!
Please respond A.S.A.P., as you can see time is precious! Thanks for your commitment, and your time.  His wife, Melanie
