colonoscopy

I am 50 yrs old female. I have had chronic watery diarrhea fo a year.  In July my gall bladder was removed with no improvement.  Have had much nausea and lost about 50 pounds.  No signs of cancer but they did an endoscopy in Aug and found mosaic mucosa in stomach.  They just did a colonoscopy. I fasted the day before and the day of and preped the night before with phospho soda.  While in the surgery center I had green bile looking stuff coming out as the gas escaped.  Is this green discharge normal after a colonoscopy?  What could it mean, if anything?  The gastro doctor is doing biopsies on something.  Thank you.

I am not aware of a specific disease that is associated with green discharge.  The way the phosphosoda is metabolized can result in a greenish liquid being left.

If the biopsies are negative, you can consider various causes of malabsorption - such as fat absorption or celiac disease.  These options can be evaluated with blood and stool tests respectively.

These options can be discussed with your personal physician.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
