Yes I have had or do have 'Budd Chiari, wich was diagnosed when
I was 30 years old ( 12 years ago ).I had a Porto Caval Shunt put in ,in order to relieve the pressure, which has worked quite well
considering.
I became pregnant 3 yrs post-op, and at the same time diagnosed as having 'sub-acute bacterial endocarditis' (contracted during a veno-gram), but have had relatively few problems until recently.
I am one of the lucky ones, having  been fortunate enough to be diagnosed in sufficient time, as well as to live in the same city as a well respected physician/surgeon , who was able to help me.   There are not very many of us I am told , and like you  do not know the etiology of this, or what to expect down the road.
I have never corresponded , or found  anyone else who had the same diagnosis, as (like you mentioned), it is quite a very rare disorder. I am  pleased to have found somewhat of a 'kin' that I may possibly share questions or information with, and hope we can keep in touch to do so.
