effects of large and small intestine loss

About 12 years ago I had a colectomy for ulcerative colitis. A year ago I lost 1 foot of small bowel to strangulation. Since then I have had severe muscle spasms, for several months I my heart rate was up and I was gasping for breath with exertion, my liver enzymes AST 147 ALT 152..>202 ; CBC: RBC 3.98 Hemoglobim 9.3 Hematocrit 29.1 MVX 73.2 MCH 23.3 RDW 27, Platelet 477. I am past menopause and haven’t had trouble before. I take B12 and iron supplements. Diarrhea has been very difficult to control, but I have been able to reduce the muscle cramp by getting better control.  Is there any value to liver flushes?  Normally my cardiovascular health is exceptional. What can I do? My doctors seem to be clueless. Can all of these things be related? They all came together.

There is no data suggesting any benefit to liver flushes.

The elevated liver enzymes should be further evaluated for.  An ultrasound can be done to exclude anatomic liver disease, masses or fatty liver.

If the enzymes continue to rise, or does not decline, you can consider a liver biopsy for a more definitive diagnosis.

These options can be discussed with a liver specialist.
