gas trouble

i have gas real bad it hurts on my left side under my left ribs i feel pain in my back ihad this for about 5years could this be my pancreas or ibs

Oh my gosh, this is the EXACT same problem I have and I am terrified. Have in the last year had an ultrasound, CAT scan and an upper GI but they have found nothing. Your having this for 5 years gives me such hope as I was so sure it was something terminal!!  My doctor has basically given up saying there are no more tests. I can live with it I suppose if I could just know that I am not dying. I will keep you posted if anything new comes up and please, you do the same. God Bless.

Didn't mention I had my gall bladder out in July - total relief for a month and then it ALL came back. From reading the archives
I am finding lots of people with these same symptoms and all seem to feel pancreatitis is to blame. I am calling my doctor and check it out. What a relief to find so many others with the same problem and for a long period of time which means painful but not fatal which has been my biggest fear.

I GO AND HAVE A COLONOSCOPY TOMOROW AND RIGHTNOW I STARED DRINKING GOLITLEY THIS IS NASTEY BUT I WILL FIND OUT WHATS WROUNG WITH ME I HAD ALL THE TEST THAT YOU HAD AND THE SAME CAME UP NOTHING WAS WROUNG SO MY NEW DR SHIRMER SAID WE ARE SCOPING YOU SO I WILL FIND OUT MORE TOMOROW WRIGHTBACK THANK

I too have been suffering from lots of gas, its going on 6 weeks now, Dr, thinks its my gall bladder, he ordered a Ct Scan and Ultrasound, what can these two tests reveal?, its going to be on my abdomen and pelvis.Do they scan and reveal such diseases as with the Liver, Gall Bladder, and Pancreas??

yes they reveal that and some. it will give your doc a look at what is going on.

Blade, What were the results of those tests you had last week?? Any diagnosis yet? I have been thinking about you. My symptoms seem to ease up and then get real bad again especially if I strain in some way - beginning to think maybe I have some kind of hernia. Oh, to find a good DR. my HMO will let me go to who could relieve my mind and give me some peace. Fear is a terrible thing to live with but has, unfortunately, become my daily companion...

Sorry guys i have been dealing with this problem for over 6yrs and they say IBS. Just have to stay away from gassy foods ,so i did but it is still bothersome. Ihave had my gallbladder removed,had blood work done for my pancreas also upper and lower scopes to. As of right now they say IBS, gastritis and esophagitis, i just dont think they know! I am on nexium and a strict diet not to mention xanax 2xdaily! Does it take the pain away? NO! Someone mentioned going to have a mri done.Good luck to all!
