gastroparesis

I was diagnosed with Gastroparesis recently. I would like to know, since the Vagus nerve is involved, in what way is the Vagus nerve connected with the Sympathetic Nervous System?
Also, I became extremely ill after a trip to Mexico a few years back, could that have anything to with now having this disease?
This morning I spit up some dark colored blood, should I be concerned, or am I worried about a normal problem with Gastroparesis?

Thank you for your time :)

Spitting up blood is not a common symptom for gastroparesis.  I would look for other causes, including an ulcer or inflammation of the upper digestive tract.

You can start either with an upper GI series or upper endoscopy.

The vagus nerve is associated with the parasympathetic, rather than sympathetic, nervous system.
