link Legionnaire's Disease and Collitis

I am an English attorney but no Doctor by any means . I need help with a case I am investgating . I have a patient who first showed symptoms of Legionnaire's on 31 May , was admitted to hospital as seriously ill , seemed to be recovering but died of , what was described to me after autopsy as Pseudo Membranus Collitis . He had only shown symptoms of this for 48 hours and had no previous history altho' being a smoker and mild drinker . I would like to know if there is or could be a link between the 2 conditions . It seems a little odd to my simple mind . However if there may be a link I would like to know . I cannot get answers over here . By the way I am prosecuting and not seeking damages . He was 64 . He is being cremated by my authority soon and then any residual evidence will dissappear and so I would appreciate your prompt reply , to which no liability would attach and my undertaking to that fact should give you comfort if you knew our Law Society rules . However it may determine whether further investigations take place , which is very serious here . I have given my home address for e-mail as it is quicker to receive .
Best wishes
Simon Smith
