poor digestion/fatigue

poor digestion/fatigue

I was on several courses of antibiotics for pneumonia in February. A week after I finished the last course, I developed chronic stomach pains which I was told was due to the antibiotics killing my digestive bacteria. Bacteria replacement drinks helped ease the pain but although I can eat enough now, I am extremely exhausted. Could it be because my body is working so hard ar digesting things that I don't have any energy for anything else?
(eg similar to being tired after a big meal... but constantly?)

Has this ever happened to anybody else?? (eg antibiotics killing digestive bacteria OR poor digestion causing extreme fatigue).
If so, how did you cope?
Did eating/doing certain things help?
How long did it take before it got back to normal?

It would be reassuring to know if others have been through any of this as I thought once the pain was better I could get back to functioning normally... and I haven't..sometimes I feel like I am going crazy... but I just can't overcome this tiredness.

I started out the same way back in October.  i was diagnosed with pneumonia and placed on an antibiotic and this is how it started out :Stomach pains, weight loss turned into major weight gain, fatigue.  I found a family dr who then drew blood work and found elevated enzymes. I have been through loads of blood tests, xray, ultrasound, EKG, UGI (showed sliding hiatal hurnia). Enzymes went to almost normal and back up again.  I have had another flare up again here about a week ago.  Stomach pains, nausea...cant rid of diarrhea for anything...have had that since October, youd think id be skin and bones from weight loss but Im gaining.  Next step is going out of town for a Hep dr and then the gastro here in town. I think if they keep searching something will show up.  Just had CT scan Wednesday.
I told the dr maybe we should do one of my head...he laughed and said not yet.  Good Luck and God Bless.  The fatigue and weight is also killing me.
