reflux coughing

I have a really bad cough and I guess it is related to my reflux.  I always feel that my throat is closing or that I have something at the bottom of my throat and that I have to cough to clear my throat.  It is very annoying and everybody around me gets pissed off with it.  They think it's all in my head.  What can I do to get ride of this cough?  I am an asthmatic.  I take claritan, prilosec, flovent, nasonex, lipitor, singular and proventil.  Any sugestions would be appreciated

Sorry for the weird name but every password I submitted was taken!  I also have a very bad cough that drives everyone nuts.  I'm also asthmatic and on singular,pulacort, oxeze, etc.I am seeing umteen specialists (luckily I'm in Canada so it's free).  I've had heart scans, lungs scans,etc. Tomorrow I find out if they are operating on the hiatis hernia.  It looks like that's the cause. Does your voice get hoarse, and is the coughing accompaied by lot's of mucus? Do you clear your throat a lot? I also feel like I have something in the bottom of my throat. If they tell me something new tomorrow, I'll let you know!

I have the same cough as you say. I also have short of breath all the time. was diag w/reflux in july. i am getting surgery for this after 24hr ph test came back very bad. Reflux can cause what you are saying . I have had the same cough since july 01. always clearing throat. get 24 hr ph done right away . that test will see if your cough and asthma is from reflux
