Because irritable bowel syndrome effects the flow of fluids throughout the body. If combined with high blood pressure , and emotional distress, can it cause degenerative disc disease? There is no history of trauma to the spine of any kind.

I am not aware of irritable bowel syndrome being associated with degenerative disk disease.

To further evaluate the spine, I would consider an orthopedic referral, as well as imaging with plain films, or if needed, an MRI.
