slight abdnominal paiins and stool issues

I am a male with type 2 diabetes of 38 years old, i am taking metphormin 500mg and actos 45 ng. i am controlloing it well- 5.8H1bc last test 3 months ago. I have been having a slight dull pain below my breast bone, coming and going for about a week. More impotatntly my stool has contained what I can only describe as "white kidney beans" they are pure starch in content, they are bothering me as i do not think io have ever seen them before. I was told by my doctor they are something i have eaten.i keep seeing them though and am worried what it could be. Should I be worried?

Difficult to say without seeing the stool.

Evaluating for upper GI disorders can be considered, with an upper endoscopy or ultrasound.  Things like GERD, an ulcer, inflammation of the upper digestive tract, liver or gallbladder disease, can be ruled out with these tests.

If the stool continues to be abnormal, a colonoscopy can be performed, as well as stool tests to rule out malabsorption.

If the tests are non-revealing, irritable bowel syndrome can lead to abnormal stools, and it can be treated with antispasmodic agents or antibiotics like Rifaximin.

These options can be discussed with your personal physician, or in consultation with a GI physician.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
